Frequently asked questions

How much fish was landed in Norway in week 39, 2026?
In week 39 (21–27 September 2026), 24,532 tonnes of fish, shellfish and seaweed were landed in Norway (round weight), 13% less than the same week of 2025. This covers all landings in Norway, by both Norwegian and foreign vessels.
How much fish has been landed so far in 2026?
From week 1 (starting 29 December 2025) through week 39, 1,176,016 tonnes were landed in Norway, 23% less than the same weeks of 2025. Weeks are ISO weeks (Monday–Sunday), so the period is not exactly 1 January to date.
How often are the figures updated, and how final are they?
Every Monday, with the previous week's landings. The latest two weeks are preliminary: sales notes keep arriving for days after a landing, while last year's figures are final, so the latest weeks may still rise. With access to Landingsdata you get the figures daily, per vessel and buyer.
What is round weight, and why are the figures higher than product weight?
Round weight is the weight of the whole fish. Fish landed gutted, headed or as fillets is converted back to whole-fish weight with official conversion factors (headed-and-gutted cod is multiplied by about 1.5), while by-products such as heads and liver are counted as zero. The figures are therefore higher than the product weight many buyers see in sales-organisation reports, but all species and product forms can be added up on one basis.
